“Alo Gives”: всяко  дете по света трябва да има достъп до йога 

Само преди ден социалните мрежи буквално бяха заляти от снимки на най-известните йога учители в света, в които те показват дланта си, на която пише на каква възраст са започнали да практикуват йога. Това не е случайна синхроничност, а част от новата социална инициатива на модния бранд “Alo”.

“Alo Gives”: всяко  дете по света трябва да има достъп до йога 

Целта на инициативата е да направи йога и медитацията достъпни за всяко дете по света. По-точно тя иска да стигне до 2 милиона деца в Ню Йорк и Калифорния, както и да намери все повече привърженици и последователи сред йога общностите в цял свят.

I was 16 years old when I first tried yoga. How old were you? Can you imagine what the world would be like if we all started practicing yoga and mindfulness as children? Let’s get kids to learn these amazing tools at a younger age! Give them the techniques they need to succeed and thrive! This is why I am so proud to be a part of the amazing Alo Yoga family that has set out to do so much good. Today @aloyoga launched #AloGives, a nonprofit that is dedicated to bringing yoga & mindfulness to the world by providing a free curriculum of 5-minute videos to do in the classroom or at home helping to introduce mental & physical skills that are a part of social & emotional learning. How old were you when you first stared yoga? Or do you want to start? When I was 14, my mom forced me to come home early 3x a week from basketball to practice. I hated it, thought it was both foolish and embarrassing, as well as bummed that I was not with my friends. THANK YOU MOM!! After only a few month my rebellious teenage self started to see the benefits and actually began to look forward to doing it, but mostly because I was way better than all my brothers and could rub it in their faces 🤣 . . Fast forward to college and I realized my yoga was actually something girls were into. Score 😏I did it on and off until I got a steady girlfriend then abandoned it. . . However, right before I graduated college, at the peak of my inflexibility (both mentally and physically), my mom again saved the day and sent me a video of a young Yogini doing some powerful armabalances. This is when my life changed forever. I saw someone who could be impressively strong and flexible. I was inspired. . . After college, I started doing yoga 1-4x per day for the physical benefits and ended up tearing and hamstring and rotator cuff. This coincided with the darkest time of my life, which led me to the 8 limbs of yoga, and showed me yoga as a way of life, not a physical practice. I am forever grateful for this dark and painful place I entered because it showed me more light and grace than even before. . . I ended up doing my yoga teacher training and falling in love with AcroYoga, which I also got my teacher training in. I now travel the world with my beautiful wife @miz.liz @maxandlizacro teaching workshops, retreats, and festivals, with an emphasis on anatomy and hand-balancing. . . Yoga has changed my stressed, anxious, reactive and aggressive life into one of calmness, where I can choose my response to whatever life throws at me. This is something that the younger generation would definitely benefit from and why I love that today, @aloyoga is launching #alogives – where they are providing FREE yoga classes for students in classrooms, with millions already being helped. I am so stoked for all the good they are doing in the world right now – link in my stories to learn more!

Когато децата се движат и дишат правилно те се научават на практически умения да успокояват ума си, да „изключват“ негативните мисли, да се справят със стреса и да се фокусират по-лесно върху усвояването на нови знания.

Какво щеше да стане ако бяхме започнали йога по-рано?

Може би животът ни щеше да е малко по-различен? Малко по-спокоен? Малко по друг? Е, точно това е идеята на всяко число, изписано в центъра на дланта на всеки от известните /и не само!/ йога преподаватели, които се включват в инициативата.

Подбрах няколко от тях, за да ви вдъхновя да подкрепите инициативата. Защото магията на йога трябва да стигне до всяко дете, без значение от социалното положение или населеното му място!

My mom introduced me to yoga at the age of nine. She took me to my first class ( #bikram ) which was truly an unforgettable experience. 💦 Two years later I went back to Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 to live with my grandmother and yoga was set aside for years. Growing up in DR my focus was having a basic teenage student life. By “basic” I mean meltdowns, procrastination, insecurities, orientation, zero body awareness and crazy hormones. 👉🏽 I WONDER how I would have handled many situations growing up if I have had yoga to help me cope and have a better understanding of myself. Even with all the love and support I had I still made a lot of mistakes & had a hard time coping. Many times experiencing deep sadness and unworthiness. . 👉🏽 Fast forward… I’ve been practicing #dailyyoga since 2012 and I’ve never felt stronger in every aspect of my life. Through it I found my purpose and developed an unbreakable relationship with myself. 🌎 How old were you when you first tried yoga or meditation? „Майка ми ме въведе в йогата, когато бях на 9. Тя ме заведе на моя първи йога клас (бикрам) и това беше наистина незабравимо преживяване за мен. Две години по-късно се преместих да живея при баба си в Доминиканската република и йогата остана далеч от мен в продължение на години.

Израствайки в Доминиканската република, моята главна задача беше да водя базов тийнейджърски и ученически живот. Под „базов“ имам предвид емоционалните ми сривове, протакането, несигурността в себе си, липсата ми на ориентация, нулевата ми представа за тялото ми и бушуващите хормони.

Чудя се как ли бих се справила с много ситуации в израстването ми ако имах до себе си йога, за да ми помага да се справям и да разбирам себе си малко по-добре“

I found Yoga at the age of 25. I always sought out health and fitness, but nothing had any permanence until I took my first vinyasa class. After 90 min of flowing, breathing, and sweating I was awe struck. It felt like I had finally come home to my truest self. (That might sound odd, but I honestly can’t explain it any different) I found my “thing” my calling so to speak, and eventually I found myself. Koa started Yoga around 11 months. She watched @joshkrameryoga and I and naturally copied us. She now says and knows downdog, prayer hands and handstand (but we obviously hold her feet for that one) If I say Yoga, she runs to the mat. I hope this love and curiosity for the practice stays with her forever. I wish I started so young! Today Alo Gives – @aloyoga , is bringing yoga Into classrooms for Free! 5 minute videos designed for children to do in the classroom or at home helping to introduce kids to yoga and provide a much needed mental and physical break! I discovered yoga when I was 22 years old. It came to me as a painful gift; one that I didn’t think I was ready to open.✨ * I had been training incredibly hard as a track and field athlete in college until I got a stress fracture that put a halt to my training and treatened my entire athletic career.✨ * The journey adjusting to the practice of yoga was not an easy one. It was full of highs and lows. Feeling like it wasn’t for me until I started witnessing the benefits.✨ * After years of practice, receiving my yoga teacher certification, and sharing this gift with others my life has changed for the better.✨ * I am the healthiest I have ever been in my entire life mentally, spiritually and physically. „Открих йога, когато бях на 22 години. Тя дойде при мен като болезнен подарък; такъв, за който не бях сигурна, че съм готова да отворя.

Тренирах наистина тежко като лекоатлетка в колежа, поне докато получих фрактура, поради която обучението ми трябваше да спре, за да се лекувам почти през цялата ми спортна кариера.

Възстановяването ми ме отведе към йогата, която никак не беше лесна за мен. Имаше много възходи и спадове. Имах усещането, че йога не е за мен, поне докато не започнах да забелязвам ползите от практикуването й.

След години практикуване се сдобих със сертификат за йога преподавател, и след като започнах да споделям този дар с другите моят живот се промени към по-добро.“

I was 15 when I found yoga. I had been a popstar in Asia for a few years and I was battling bulimia and anorexia. My life felt pretty chaotic and in the middle of a travel show I was hosting, I got to take a yoga class. Even though I was being filmed, it was clear to me from that first moment that I had found something special. The experience left me physically exhausted and from that exhaustion, my mind settled. In my first Shavasana, I cried and released all my pent up emotions and I remember that for the first time in a while I felt free. The feeling was momentary and I got back to my life and being me but that feeling stuck. In that first yoga experience, I ended up feeling more connected with my mind and body in a way I hadn’t before. „Бях на 15, когато открих йога. Бях поп звезда в Азия за няколко години и в същото време се борех с булимия и анорексия. Животът ми беше доста хаотичен и по средата на едно шоу за пътувания, на което бях домакин, трябваше да посетя йога клас. 

Въпреки че ме заснемаха за мен беше ясно, че съм открила нещо специално. Това преживяване ме остави физически изтощена и от това изтощение умът ми беше успокоен.
